In 1974, still under the Franco dictatorship, the catalogue for Juan Giralt’s exhibition at Galería Temps in Valencia was banned and the authorities ordered its destruction, as the cross drawn over an effigy with a wolf’s muzzle in one of the works was deemed to be an affront to religion. Of the thousand copies printed just fifty were saved, numbered and set aside by the artist.
